The Domoic Acid ELISA Test Kit provides accurate, simple and rapid detection of domoic acid toxins in water samples and shellfish samples. This immunoassay is designed for the quantitative and sensitive detection of Domoic Acid, one of the toxins associated with amnesiac shellfish poisoning (ASP).

This direct competitive ELISA test is suitable for both quantitative and qualitative detection of Domoic Acid in water samples and shellfish samples. For shellfish samples, sample preparation is required prior to testing.

The test operates on a direct competitive ELISA principle where Domoic Acid present in samples competes with a domoic acid-enzyme conjugate for binding sites of specific mouse anti-domoic acid antibodies. These antibodies are then captured by immobilized goat anti-mouse antibodies on the plate. After washing and substrate addition, the resulting color intensity is inversely proportional to Domoic Acid concentration. Results are evaluated using an ELISA reader and concentrations determined by interpolation from the standard curve.

The Domoic Acid ELISA Test Kit provides capacity for 96 determinations (42 samples in duplicate with 12 wells for standards). Store at 2-8°C with a shelf life of 12 months when properly stored. Return unused microwells to the foil bag with desiccant.
